Biennial Review Summary 2020

The 2020 Biennial Review Committee composed of faculty, staff, and students met virtually in May and June 2020 to conduct the federally required alcohol and other drug (AOD) policy biennial review. A subcommittee also met to discuss consistency of policy and sanction enforcement as well as how to best document AOD data collection.

Opioids – Fentanyl, Overdoses, and Naloxone

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is sometimes used for pain management in cancer treatment. It is now being found in drugs including heroin, cocaine, counterfeit Xanax, and ecstasy. Even a small amount of Fentanyl could cause an overdose.

Concussion

Concussion, also called a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), may be caused by a direct or indirect impact to the head, neck, or body, causing a rapid movement of the brain inside the skull. The sudden motion causes a neurochemical disturbance resulting in a range of clinical signs and symptoms. It is important to note that not all concussions result in a loss of consciousness (or “blacking out”).

2023-24 Tuition Insurance

This insurance plan significantly extends and enhances the university's published withdrawal policy. The plan provides funds that can help to pay back loans, grants, and scholarships for students who must completely withdraw from a term due to a physical or mental health illness or injury. 

COVID-19 | Antigen Testing

At-home rapid (antigen) tests can be taken at home or anywhere. They're easy to use and they produce quick results.
