We are celebrating sexual well-being during Sex Week 2024 from March 4 to 8. Check out the different events being offered below – there's something for everyone! Even if you think you know it all, invite a friend and show your support to them (you might even learn a thing or two).
Events
Sexual Health is Mental Health!
March 4 | 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Come learn more about how mental health can affect someone’s interest in sexual and romantic relationships (and vice versa: how previous sexual experiences may affect someone’s mental health), the side effects of mental health medication as it impacts sexual health/interest, and tools to overcome those barriers and improve relationships.
We will also talk about the stigma surrounding sexual health and mental health (and how these stigmas relate to/build upon each other), different types of therapy for sexual and mental health – including support for survivors of sexual assault – and highlighting resources available at CAPS and more broadly within Washtenaw County.

SAPAC Bystander Intervention Workshop
March 6 | 5-6:30 p.m.
In this secondary prevention workshop offered by Bystander Intervention and Community Engagement (BICE), participants will learn terminology around sexual misconduct and consent as well as the steps to active intervention, barriers to intervention, and the “4 D's” of bystander intervention strategies. Participants will work through scenarios crafted for their specific group/environment. Food will be provided for participants!

TRANS-forming Reproductive Health
March 7 | 4-6 p.m.
Come join us for TRANS-forming Reproductive Health, an event that will center on trans and non-binary people, who are often left out of the conversation both socially and medically when wanting to reproduce. We will discuss what research, personal anecdotal research, and a lack of research shows around reproductive health for transgender and non-binary people, with or without taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and/or undergoing gender-affirming surgery.
