UHS has adopted Start by Believing, a public awareness campaign designed to improve response to sexual assault in our communities.
Each person's reaction to a disclosure of sexual assault can be the first step in a long path toward justice and healing. But too often, survivors who have the courage to tell someone what happened are blamed for bringing it on themselves.
Knowing how to respond is critical, so UHS staff have received training to Start by Believing.
This effort is in collaboration with:

- U-M Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center
- Michigan Medicine
