At the University of Michigan, we believe health insurance is important for your well-being. If you don't have coverage, please take advantage of this opportunity through U-M to get health insurance.
During the week of December 4-8, 2023, staff from UHS and the Michigan Medicine Patient Financial Counselors will be available to help uninsured students check their eligibility for Michigan Medicaid and/or subsidies on the Health Insurance Marketplace. They can also assist with the application process.
To schedule an appointment, send an email ([email protected]) and:
- Mention uninsured outreach appointment in the subject line
- Include times you are available for a half-hour appointment between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m on December 4-8, 2023
- Include your name and cell phone number

Michigan Medicaid Application Assistance
The UHS Managed Care / Student Insurance team and the Patient Financial Counselors at Michigan Medicine are available to help students check their eligibility for Michigan Medicaid. The staff can also assist with the application process if you are eligible.
Health Insurance Marketplace Assistance
The Patient Financial Counselors at Michigan Medicine can provide free help to determine whether you are eligible for financial assistance to help pay for insurance on the Health Insurance Marketplace. They can also assist with the application process.
