Professional Interests:
A personal career goal of mine is to work to provide resources to underserved communities, thus aiming to bridge the gap between institutions and communities. I believe that through the merge of holistic and scientific approaches that we can create a more equitable society.
Approach to wellness:
When it comes to personal wellness, I like to start by assessing/checking in with myself emotionally, physically, and mentally. I ask myself “Is anything bothering me today?” Or evaluate why my actions are what they are, taking notes to refer to later. Ultimately, these notes allow me to have small milestones and goals on how to become better and more well. Once I have reflected, I like to develop a plan of action to reach the goals I set for myself. When it comes to setting goals of any aspect of wellness, accountability is KEY! Sharing goals and plans with friends, family, and other close acquaintances allow us to hold each other accountable for our own ideas of wellness. All while understanding that no one plan is the same and no one journey is equal distance.
Personal Interests:
While I hate mosquitos and bees, I like to consider myself an outdoorsman. I thoroughly enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, snowboarding, boating. Another personal interest of mine is food. I love to eat! I particularly like to try new dishes and restaurants, things I wouldn’t normally eat at home anyways. Physical fitness is probably my third more important personal interest. I used to be a very active football, basketball, and baseball player, but now I focus more on cardio and strength training and love CrossFit.
