At UHS, nurses are available for:
- Advice about self-care or when to seek medical care
- Rapid Strep Test
- Pregnancy Testing and options counseling
- Diabetes education
- Cholesterol testing
- Blood pressure checks
- Suture removal
- Care for minor wounds
- Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections in Women

Do I need an appointment to see a nurse? No, you can walk in without an appointment or call 734-764-8320 during regular building hours.
Can I call for advice? Yes, you can talk to a nurse 24/7 for medical advice, including self-care suggestions. This may save a trip to UHS, the ER or an urgent care facility. See Medical Advice by Phone.
Are crutches available at UHS? Yes, crutches and canes are loaned free of charge, but you must return them or pay a fee. You must first see a clinician to be assessed for need and to receive an order. Nurses will provide crutches and instructions on proper use.
Are wheelchairs available at UHS? Wheelchairs are available for use only at UHS. UHS does not lend or rent wheelchairs. For rental, contact Wenk's Prescription Shop, 734-747-8080, 2355 East Stadium Blvd #1, Ann Arbor.
