National College Health Assessment (NCHA)

The National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a nationally recognized research survey that assists the University of Michigan in collecting precise data about students’ health habits, behaviors, and perceptions. Wolverine Wellness partners with campus stakeholders and the American College Health Association (ACHA) to coordinate these efforts.

The NCHA survey asks questions about attitudes and behaviors on topics such as:

  • Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use
  • Sexual health
  • Weight, nutrition, and physical activity
  • Mental health
  • Injury prevention, personal safety, and violence

We conduct the NCHA survey every two years. Past results are listed below.
